This big statement piece is inspired by Wayne Thiebaud’s iconic 1960s cake counter scenes. Alice has portrayed her favourite and classic puddings - treacle tart, lemon meringue pie, Neapolitan ice cream cake and chocolate eclairs in a textural and impasto style to heighten their deliciousness. This painting is steeped in nostalgia and brings back fond childhood memories of encounters with all of these sweet things.
